Someone needs blood every two seconds, and every time you donate, you give someone another chance and life, laughter and memories. What could be better than that? Well this summer, every blood donation will bring an extra gift to a Special Olympics Hawaii athlete. Special Olympics Hawaii has partnered with Blood Bank of Hawaii, to hold two blood drives at the Special Olympics Hawaii Sports and Wellness Center (91-610 Maunakapu St. Ewa Beach, HI 96706) on June 6, 2021 and August 7, 2021, both from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. You can sign up for the August 7 blood drive here: http://bit.ly/August7blooddrive. Not only will you be donating blood, but for every donation you make from June 1 through August 31 to Blood Bank of Hawaii, Special Olympics Hawaii athletes will receive a piece of much-needed equipment or PPE. You’ll also be providing life-saving blood during this critical summer period when blood donations drop by as much as 15 percent. There’s only one source for blood, so let’s show up to support our athletes and the entire community! Donations are made by appointment only, so hurry before they fill up! Be 16 years or older! *(16–17 years old with BBH parental consent form) Weigh at least 110 pounds! Have a photo ID with your birth date! |
