Four Michelin-star rated Chef Kunio Tokuoka is planning his return to Hawaii this spring for a series of epicurean events hosted by 53 By The Sea. From March 6 - 8, 2019, the popular Honolulu fine-dining restaurant will transport guests to the tranquil, bamboo-lined streets of Japan for Taste of Kyoto, featuring multi-course masterpieces inspired by Chef Kunio Tokuoka’s KYOTO KITCHO restaurants in collaboration with celebrated local chef, Chef Alan Wong. Nestled in Kyoto’s tranquil Arashiyama district, KYOTO KITCHO is considered the pinnacle of the kaiseki experience. Once a simple meal served during tea ceremonies, the practice has blossomed into a creative and immersive spread that awakens all the senses. Chef Tokuoka is at the forefront of this evolution, developing new forms of expression that pay homage to kaiseki’s rich, 400-year history. Limited to 30 guests per seating.
