Summer Taiko & Tsugaru Shamisen Intensives
Taiko Center of the Pacific's 16th Annual Summer Taiko & Tsugaru Shamisen Intensives. FIVE DAYS of intensive TAIKO (Japanese drumming) and THREE DAYS of Tsugaru shamisen (3-string banjo-like Japanese lute) study with a star-studded cast of instructors from Japan and Hawaii. Each class meets daily for 2 hours. Odaiko (big drum), chudaiko (medium size horizontal drumming), katsugi (shoulder slung drum), Hana Hachijo (graceful & powerful style of drumming from Hachijo island), taiko set (3 drums at one time), double beta-ichi (two upright drums), and Tsugaru shamisen. A great opportunity to learn a lot in a short amount of time with masters in their respective fields. Sign up for individual classes.
