Eat the Street Hosts Thankful Fest | ||||||
Eat the Street is back for the month of November after having to cancel its October event due to the Kakaako Park closure. Titled “Thankful Fest”, the event will be held on Friday, November 24, from 4:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. at Kakaako Park. While the event is known for its food trucks, Eat the Street will also hold a free concert in the park featuring musicians from the Aloha Autism compilation CD such as Kawika Kahiapo, Johnny Helm and Alex Kawakami. “We are excited to be back this month for Eat the Street after the October sudden closure of Kakaako Park,” said Poni Askew, owner of Street Grindz. “Since our event is on Black Friday, Eat the Street is perfect for those who need to unwind after a full day’s of shopping or want to take a break from leftover Thanksgiving food. We also wanted to highlight it as a Mahalo from the Street Grindz community for supporting Eat the Street for the past seven years.” About 30-35 food vendors will be on-site selling their best dish of the year. Aoki’s Shave Ice will be giving away free shave ice at the Postmates booth. An outdoor bar will be available and attendees can participate in the Knocker Ball activity. Eat the Street will resume in January 2018. For more information about the event, visit streetgrindz.com. Special thanks to the sponsors for this event – Postmates, Spectrum and Hawaiian Music Live.
