University of Hawai‘i Presents Faustwork Mask Theatre Thursday, November 9, 2017 • 7:30pm UHM Orvis Auditorium University of HawaiĘ»i Presents hosts Faustwork Mask Theatre, a theatre, physical comedy, music, dance, and poetry show at the UH Manoa Orvis Auditorium on November 9 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased over the phone at 808-956-8246, or online at http://outreach.hawaii.edu/community/. Robert Faust, founder and artistic director of Faustwork Mask Theatre, is a man who can be described as a jack-of-all trades. His talents are evident as he performs physical comedy, dances, and delights everyone. Faustwork Mask Theatre ignites audiences into laughter and awakens the spirit of Mardi Gras. Audience participation is encouraged so don’t be shy. Faust’s show is enjoyed by audiences of all ages, bringing them together in a night of hysterics. The New York Times calls Faustwork Mask Theater, “Hilariously hyperbolic… Tickles some sort of primal funny bone.” Faustwork Mask Theatre will also perform at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on November 2 at 7:30 pm and at the Kahilu Theatre Foundation on November 5 at 4:00 pm. New Orleans native Robert Faust has produced and created six shows that have toured theatres, festivals, schools, and universities across the globe. Before founding Faustwork Mask Theatre, Faust was a performer and choreographer with Pilobolus Dance Theatre, Martha Clarke, and the Paul Winter Consort. Faust says, “Masks are great catalysts for the indulgences and jollity that Mardi Gras inspires, and people who ordinarily might never speak to one another laugh, dance and misbehave together in the streets.” University of Hawai‘i Presents (UHP) brings to Hawai‘i artists from the mainland, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Workshops, master classes, and lecture-demonstrations are arranged to maximize the educational value of the productions. UHP works closely with the Performing Arts Presenters of Hawai‘i and other organizations across the state. For more information, please visit http://www.outreach.hawaii.edu/community/ |
