Party 4 A Purpose | ||||||
Get a head start on your 4th of July festivities at this year’s Party 4 A Purpose. Set for Monday, July 3, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Pomaika’i Ballrooms at Dole Cannery, the annual event serves as a fundraiser with proceeds benefitting nonprofits Hawai’i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) and Kids Hurt Too Hawaii. Guests who attend Party 4 A Purpose will be treated to an evening of pupus, a hosted bar as well as award-winning live entertainment by local artists Josh Tatofi, Manaʻo Company and Kalapana. Tickets start at $100 and can be purchased online at www.honoluluprofessionals.org/tickets.htm. Must be 21 and over to attend. Since its inception in 2008, the Honolulu Professionals Foundation has donated more than $218,000 to local organizations and causes throughout Hawaiʻi. Past organizations that Honolulu Professionals Foundation has partnered with include Aloha Harvest, Epilepsy Foundation Hawaii, The International Dyslexia Association, Hawaii Literacy, You Today and Surfrider Spirit Sessions. This year’s Party 4 A Purpose is one of Mele Mei’s signature events. Mele Mei, which translates to “May Hawaiian Music Month” in Hawaiian, features more than 80 performances throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The celebration provides both residents and visitors from around the world a chance to immerse themselves in the islands’ local music and culture.
