Hale‘iwa, HI (September 28, 2016)— Hale‘iwa Store Lots, located on Oahu’s famed North Shore, will play host to the Keiki Halloween Costume Contest and trick-or-treating event on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 1 p.m. in the Hale‘iwa Store Lots Kamehamalu Courtyard. “Hale‘iwa Store Lots has such a wonderful assortment of retail shops, restaurants and other attractions for the whole family to enjoy,” said Ryan Ng, Senior Asset Manager for Kamehameha Schools. “It is important for parents to have keiki-friendly events for their families to participate in on this side of the island, and we are happy to be a part of that.” The Keiki Costume Contest will be divided into two age groups: children ages 1-6 and children age 7 and older. Registration will begin at 1p.m. and the first 25 entries will be accepted for each age group. Each age group will be awarded First, Second and Third Prize winners. Hale‘iwa Store Lots Judges will be looking for creativity and ingenuity when selecting this year’s top costumes. Music for the event will be provided courtesy of DJ Romeo Valentine, a local radio personality and well known entertainer. In addition to this year’s Keiki Halloween Costume Contest, Hale‘iwa Store Lots will also host a trick-or-treating event for all keiki in attendance. Participating merchants will hand out tricks or treats from 1:30p.m. until closing. Hale‘iwa Store Lots is proud to promote events such as these as a fun and safe way for the surrounding community to enjoy Halloween festivities together. ### Located in the heart of Hale‘iwa town, the plantation-inspired Hale‘iwa Store Lots is an open-air retail center that is inspired by the area’s unique and historic charm. Spanning 27,300 square feet, the store lots offer gathering spaces and courtyards for both local residents and visitors to enjoy. This North Shore destination is home to twenty locally operated businesses, featuring many with North Shore roots. Owned by Kamehameha Schools, revenues generated from Hale‘iwa Store Lots fund educational opportunities for more than 47,000 learners and caregivers annually through three campuses on the O‘ahu, Maui, and Hawai‘i islands; 30 preschools statewide, literacy instruction and support in more than 200 public school classrooms; financial and educational support for 17 Hawaiian-focused public charter schools; and collaborations with 50 additional organizations throughout the state. |
