May Day Waikiki - Beach Boys, Memories and Music
The 2nd annual “May Day Waikiki – Beach Boys, Memories and Music” is set for Friday, May 1 from 3-5 p.m. on the sand fronting the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. Visitors and residents will have the opportunity to experience the free event, which includes a concert by legendary Hawaiian entertainer, Danny Kaleikini and award-winning contemporary reggae-pop vocalist Anuhea. The entire event will broadcast live on Hawaiian 105.1 KINE and is sponsored by the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

Created in 2014, this May Day experience includes a commemorative program that celebrates the history and tradition of Waikiki. The program will feature a special homage to the Waikiki Beach Boys with a moment of silence remembering those who call Waikiki Beach their final resting place, followed by a special concert featuring two musicians representing different generations of Hawaiian music, Danny Kaleikini and Anuhea.

Another highlight of the day are free canoe rides being offered by a few of the Waikiki Beach Services on the beach from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the May Day event.
