Fourth Annual Makahiki Challenge at Kualoa Ranch
On January 31, 2015, the 4th Annual Makahiki Challenge will take place at Kualoa Ranch. Hawaii’s first 5K-obstacle mudrun consists of 12 obstacles that in the past have included a mud pit, a 12-foot wall climb and an ice bath by Hawaiian Ice. The 3-mile course ends with a Pa’ina and beer garden sponsored by Kona Brewing Company and a concert featuring numerous local bands.

The Makahiki Challenge is open to anyone age 16 and older, and of all fitness levels. Cost is $80. Participants can enter as individuals or join a team. The first heat starts at 8:30 a.m. with various heat times to follow. To register, visit makahikichallenge.com.
